In ChatGPT, users can ask about fires near a city or location and receive a current wildfire snapshot powered by trusted fire data sources, including NASA hotspot data, NIFC fire records, and Canadian fire records via the Wildfire Tracker API. The ChatGPT app resolves the requested location, summarizes nearby and nearest fire signals, and renders a compact map-style widget with counts, highlights, and a link to the Wildfire Tracker iOS app. The full phone app provides an all-in-one wildfire map and safety companion, with wildfire updates, weather, wind, air-quality context, and real-time alerts.
